Ghaziabad, August 30: A shocking cyber fraud case has surfaced in Ghaziabad, where a man allegedly posed as an AVG Antivirus support agent to cheat innocent people. The scam was uncovered by cyber vigilante Nano Better, who is known for exposing online scammers through his YouTube and social media platforms. How the AVG Antivirus Scam Worked According to Nano Better, the accused Manish Kumar (39) created fake AVG customer support websites using Google Ads. When users searched for “AVG Help” or “AVG Support” on Google, these fake sites appeared at the top of search results. Victims who called the displayed numbers were tricked into believing their computer was infected with viruses. The fake “support staff” then asked them to download apps like AnyDesk or TeamViewer to provide remote access. Once access was granted, the scammer allegedly: Stole banking and personal details.
